WHERE IS MERMAID CAMP HELD?

HOW LONG IS MERMAID CAMP EACH DAY?
Friday: 9AM-5PM, optional Luau inspired dinner in the evening
ARE MEALS PROVIDED AT MERMAID CAMP?
The following meals are provided as part of your mermaid camp cost: Thursday dinner, Friday breakfast / lunch / dinner, Saturday breakfast & lunch, Sunday breakfast & lunch. Meals are offered in vegetarian and well-rounded (e.g. meat ok) versions. Sorry, vegan meals are not available at this time.
ARE PHOTOS INCLUDED IN A MERMAID CAMP PACKAGE?
One edited photo is included in the price of mermaid camp from professional underwater photographer Brenda Stumpf. If you would like to review your proofs and purchase other shots from mermaid camp you may do that separately for an additional fee.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
This mermaid camp is designed for adults ages 18+ who are in good physical shape, are proficient swimmers, have good social skills in group settings, and are able to work in the water for 2-4 hours per day. All genders and orientations are welcome.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND?
Exclusive by design, the high level of personalized service present in our adult mermaid camp means that only 16 camper spots are available. We hope that you will join us to be one of our lucky campers and make your mermaid dreams come true.

No. Not unless they are also fully paid campers. Pets are not allowed on site.

Yes, fabric level rental tails are available on site for $40 for the duration of mermaid camp. We have a variety of sizes available, for people from 90-250 pounds. We do not offer any silicone or prosthetic tail rentals. If you have one of those or your own monofin or fabric tail you are welcome to bring it to camp.
CAN I BRING A CAMERA TO MERMAID CAMP?
Yes. You are welcome to bring an underwater camera to use as long as you are not intrusive to other people.
WHAT DOES THE UNDERWATER MODELING PORTION LOOK LIKE?
Check out this video from one of our past work with two women with ZERO underwater modeling experience - the results will amaze you of how much you can learn in this experience!
HOW DO I GET THERE / WHERE DO I STAY?
LOCAL HOTELS IN SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA
Best Western Posada Royale Hotel & Suites (closest to site)
Grand Vista Hotel (as of 6-19-18 this hotel offers ground transportation to the train station in Simi Valley)
You are responsible for securing your own ground transportation to get to and from your hotel to mermaid camp each day.
Uber or Lyft both service Simi Valley. You can alternately take the train (Amtrak or Metrolink) from Bobe Hope / Burbank Airport (BUR) to Simi Valley and then take Uber, Lyft, or a taxi from the station to the site. Please make sure to check any train schedules before assuming that train transportation is available. The Ventura County Line is the train line that runs to Simi Valley from Burbank Airport (BUR).
Parking is free at both the private training facility and community pool used in this weekend. Limited carpools are available between the main training site and the community pool.
AIR TRANSPORTATION & FLIGHTS
If you are flying in the closest airport is Bob Hope, or Burbank Airport (BUR). We highly recommend "acting like a local" and flying in to BUR if possible to avoid lengthy delays, lines, and frustration at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Due to construction, poor traffic flow, and political protests, LAX, while seemingly equal in distance on a map to the location, takes at least an extra hour to get out of before placing you on one of the most congested freeways in the country for an additional 1-2.5 hours of traffic to get to the site. BUR is a much smaller airport near a faster-moving freeway which enables it to provide faster service than LAX.
